The educational objectives of the Department of Sports and Fitness are to foster students to obtain the enriched personality and high level of specialized knowledge as a professional of exercise and sports for human health promotion and retention and to contribute actively to human health.
The department provides the courses for acquisition of junior high school and high school physical education teacher license and other qualifications; Health Fitness Instructor, Health Fitness Programmer,
Sports Instructor for the Disabled and other sports instructor qualifications authorized by JASA.
These courses offer the characteristic education for students to acquire the advanced knowledge about sports/exercise coaching and school/sports facility operation, moreover the applied skills for effective and scientific coaching. Therefore, following students with strong sense of purpose are desired.

Department of Sports and Fitness systematically arranges the 9 academic disciplines on the basis of the above educational objectives and the diploma policy. For freshman and sophomore, the department offers students the courses with a small group classes to perceive their progress in learning, also the specialized seminars in order to reinforce the links between the Liberal Arts subjects and the
Specialized Subjects. Additionally, the 3 advanced courses, Sports Coaching Course, Health Exercise Course, and Sports Producing Course are available through the Department of Sports and Fitness for more specialized and effective learning of each student with their future plan.

To acquire the knowledge of health and hygiene for individual and group health maintenance and promotion through collecting and handling accurate scientific information about process of development and aging from child to adolescence including handicapped. Besides, adding the knowledge and skills of safety and first-aid fosters safe and effective lead on the sport of physical education and other sports activities. |
Sports Science |
To raise sports ethics with the sports instructing history, cultural background, roles of sports, principles and legal rules, and also, acquire the knowledge and skills of group behavior, social structure and management of sports facilities including the ones run by administration. Moreover, to enable students instruct sports activities with the knowledge of sports psychology and natural science. |

In freshman and sophomore year, rise their interests and concerns in the specialized area of health and sports through the broad and variety of general practices. Meanwhile, in junior and senior year, to enhance their individual expertness and applied skills, they determine their own research field. |

Other courses are provided for covering new knowledge and equipment by the progress of science and the social situation, also acquisition of High School / Junior High School Physical Education Teaching License and other practical qualification through developing or complementing the knowledge they already had. |
